Immigrant Women Program Legal Internship, Summer
Interns will work with the Immigrant Woman Program (IWP) on a range of tasks, including: researching and analyzing legislation; drafting letters, fact sheets, and articles; attending briefings and coalition meetings; answering requests for technical assistance; assisting with administrative tasks as need; and chairs coalitions dealing with violence against women, welfare reform, child care, and immigrant women's rights, and interns help coordinate the work of these large, diverse coalition groups. Legal interns should be a law student or attorney and should have a strong interest in gender equality, women's legal rights and/or immigrant rights. A working knowledge of the American political process is recommended.
Note: A 15-35 hour per week commitment for 10-12 weeks is required.
