The Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in program administration, grant management, proposal development and writing to shape **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.’s work to promote democracy and human rights in the MENA region. This part-time (16-24 hours/week), internship is based in Washington, DC and reports to the Iran Program Officer. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide research assistance for programs and proposal developmentAssist with editing/writing proposals, reports, press releases, and briefing booksProvide administrative and logistical support for day-to-day functioning of the Middle East and North Africa programsPrepare financial forms and draft agreements, translating back-up documents as neededCommunicate via Skype, email and phone with field staff, consultants and local partnersAssist with organizing events and meetings in DC and abroad related to FH programsOther related duties as assigned Minimum QualificationsCurrent enrollment in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student requiredStrong ability to communicate clearly in English (required) and Farsi (preferred), verbally and in writingExcellent research, analytical, writing, and organizational skillsMastery of MS Office Suite specifically Word, Excel, PowerPointKnowledge of human rights principles and mechanisms, and understanding of democracy promotion, with a focus on the Middle East and North AfricaAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamStrong ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, and multi task to meet tight deadlinesAbility to apply superb attention to detail and consistently produce timely and error free workExcellent research, analytical, writing, and organizational skillsKnowledge of basic accounting principles and grant-related compliance requirements preferredAbility to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times Work Environment and Physical DemandsEssential functions are typically performed in an office setting.
