Job Summary

The internal communication team is responsible for developing employee communications and engagement strategies in support of key business initiatives, company goals, or special projects; provides communications guidance for partner teams or projects/initiatives. The internal communications intern will be part of the content and strategy team within internal communications. This is a six-person team (possibly with an additional 1 or 2 co-ops) with a wide range of focus and expertise. The intern will report to an Executive Director but have the opportunity to work with many members of the team. Outside of the immediate team, the intern will also have the opportunity to interact with communicators from across the company - including our partners from the Divisions. The internal communications intern will support the day-to-day operations and processes for the Internal Communications content team, including tactical activity execution. This role will also assist in the creation of employee-facing messaging, including web copy, feature content, newsletters, digital assets, and more, on key business initiatives like privacy, reliability, customer experience, and digital acceleration. This role will be able to contribute quickly to the work - providing additional ideas and perspective to the team, and contributing to the content creation. The internal communications intern will be part of brainstorming and executing new communications and engagement programs to engage our employees around big business initiatives. These programs could include things like employee contests, events, speakers, or creating engaging content like videos or graphics. We are excited to bring in someone who has a lot of ideas and is excited to figure out how to best bring them to life. The internal communications intern will be a valuable contributor to the content and strategy part of the internal communications team. The intern will be expected to contribute to the ideation and execution of initiatives that support key business goals. Internal communications are a key part of bringing the company strategy to life for our employees - we work to make sure our teammates know what is going on around the business, and how they can help influence and impact company achievement. We want to be sure our teammates know what is happening around the company, and can engage with the business in interesting and educational ways.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Basic Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university

Rising Junior or Rising Senior with an anticipated graduation date of December 2023, Spring 2024, December 2024 or Spring 2025.

Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship

Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program

Recommended GPA: 3.0 (candidates will be evaluated on overall skills, education, and experience)

Required Skills:

Pay:

The range for this role is $18-$20/hour and is based on the academic level of achievement and business structure:

Rising Sophomore: $18/hour

Rising Junior: $19/hour

Rising Senior: $20/hour

Base Pay: $18.00
