OpenBox Strategies is a video production and marketing company with clients in the B2B and political campaign and advocacy space. Our sister company, OpenBox Events, provides videography, photography, and DJ services for weddings. Title Multimedia Summer Intern Type Internship Class Part-time Date 3\/12\/2018 Region Southeast Wisconsin City, State Brookfield, WI Summary The OpenBox Strategies Summer Internship Program is an immersive, hands-on eight-week course for high school and college students interested in multimedia production. You will learn video production and editing, photography, and business management that is ideal for freelancers looking for practical experience. This person will have a collaborative and entrepreneurial drive motivating them to grow their creative imagination. Description Objectives Participants will work closely with OpenBox staff throughout the eight weeks and are guaranteed practical, hands-on experience. They will be invited on select staff events and be considered part of the team. Outlined are some of the projects you will be working on during the program: Operations Overview: Learning the basics of equipment management, scheduling, and technical functionality in preparation for weekend shoots. Client Management : Reviewing the basics of communicating with clients and setting expectations before, during, and after a shoot. Video Pre-Production (Weddings & events): Learning techniques, shooting styles, and equipment overviews. Video Post-Production (Weddings & events): Learning production workflows and editing best practices. Photography Workshop (Shooting): Learning camera techniques, lenses, styles, and best practices. Photography Workshop (Editing): Learning the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Video Practical: Produce a full-feature digital project for an OpenBox client. Project scope to be discussed with Internship Coordinator. Duties & Responsibilities In addition to the curriculum outlined above, participants will be required to handle simple administrative projects. It is imperative participants show up punctually for scheduled projects. Tardiness will not be tolerated and will be immediate grounds for termination. All participants will have professional, upstanding behavior and demeanor while working with office staff and clients. Timeline June 4th - July 28th 2018 Participants MUST be available every Saturday during the program for long production days to assist videographers or photographers at on-site wedding shoots. Additionally, they will be expected to work in-office for training and hands-on learning with OpenBox staff a minimum of 12 hours each week. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old and at minimum entering senior year of high school. Both high school and college students are encouraged to apply. Some sample work. Obviously those getting started will have limited portfolios, but some combination of sample photography and video experience -- even a noble effort! -- must be provided. Compensation & Benefits $8-10\/hr, commensurate with experience. Academic credit options also available.
