Company: Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) Location: Austin, TX Role: Intern, AMD Finance Dates: Mid May\u00a0to Early August , 2018 Job Summary The AMD Internal Audit and Internal Controls Department is seeking an Intern to join our team from Mid May\u00a0to Early August 2018. This opportunity will offer current college students the opportunity to experience what it is like to design and assess the Corporate Governance and Controls for a $5B global high tech company. In this position, the successful candidate will have the ability to apply classroom learnings in a real business world environment. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to gain exposure to other finance disciplines through the natural interaction of the audit team with our partners in sales finance, business unit finance, corporate planning, global operations, treasury, external reporting and tax accounting. This position is based at our location in Austin, Texas. Responsibilities The Intern will work on a variety of projects that directly impact the success of the business including assessing risk and evaluating the sufficiency and effectiveness of financial, compliance and operational controls. In many cases the assessment criteria will relate to the regulatory requirements of US Sarbanes-Oxley. Specific projects in which the intern will be involved include the evaluation of User Access controls within the IT environment and Best Practices for Cybersecurity Readiness. Qualifications -Pursuing a Bachelor degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, or business related disciplines -About to enter their Junior or Senior year or Master\u2019s program. -Strong interpersonal skills and professional maturity -Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills -Well organized, with the ability to prioritize and multi task several projects at once -Strong results orientation -Strong analytical, written and interpersonal skills with ability to identify problems and collaborate with others to provide options for resolution -Familiarity with standard Microsoft office software -Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment -Ability to work legally in the United States via citizen, legal residency or an appropriate visa\/permit.
