We are seeking a motivated summer intern/6-month co-op for the Franklin office to assist with projects throughout the North East. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from our senior staff, and gain a wide range of experience.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
Under supervision of the senior staff, candidates will work on a variety of waterfront projects throughout the region
Monitor construction activities such as pile driving and concrete placement.
Assist with field inspection, engineering analyses and design. Perform computations, prepare spreadsheets, prepare and edit drawings using AutoCad.
Assist with preparation of proposals and reports.
Pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to travel on temporary assignment if needed.
Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to work in the field as needed.
Ability to perform field work in active constructions sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
Ability to manage small to medium projects in all phases of engineering design including field investigations, preliminary designs, regulatory approvals, final design and development of contract documents.
Strong structural design experience with steel and concrete as well as geotechnical lateral earth pressure design for bulkheads and retaining walls.
Experience working in a team setting with engineers and scientists to advise clients in implementing their projects
