SUMMARY
The Social Media Intern is responsible for gathering and furnishing content, in collaboration with Marketing and on-campus departments that showcases the respective campus’ activities, events and learnings on social media and through photos, videos, blogs, and creative storytelling. This person will support the day-to-day management of the campus social channel properties including Facebook, with the opportunity to contribute content to Marketing’s main social channel properties of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This role is designed to be a point of synergy on campus and create community at Concorde through social media and online presence. The person in this position must have a clear understanding of Concorde’s mission and values and a keen eye for recognizing how to capture that in the form of pictures and stories. Because social media users demand visually engaging and timely content, this role requires an individual to be organized, proficient in still and action-based photography and concise, yet detailed, in their writings. A successful social media intern also approaches their work with a coachable spirit and the ability to follow compliance/policy guidelines, as social media continually evolves. All Concorde associates are required to display professionalism and uphold Concorde’s Mission and the core values of respect for the individual, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and curate content in collaboration with Marketing conceptualizing content that will resonate with the campus audience
Collaborate with appropriate on-campus departments to discover content opportunities and attend determined events/activities to capture photos, videos, quotes
Identify content-worthy stories among staff, students, alumni, and community partners, conduct interviews, and write blogs/articles
Shoot assigned video content, deliver raw footage, and edit footage for social media use
Act as a first-level gatekeeper for campus content that may be submitted by Concorde associates/students
Manage online events calendar for campus
Provide adequate contextual information with photo suitable to create social captions
Upload predetermined photo list and field photos from campus/community for posting in a timely fashion
Ensure media releases are procured and uploaded to comply with organizational/accreditor standards
Encourage participation in campus social media/social contests to drive loyalty and growth
Help monitor social media channels, and actively engage on behalf of Concorde in accordance with compliance requirements
Evaluate social media performance and build reports using analytics
Attend one-on-one/team meetings, as needed
Present findings, learnings, engagement, and new content opportunities to campus senior leadership monthly.

Qualifications
Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or journalism, or possibly business; junior or senior status preferred
Possess theoretical and practical working knowledge of various social platforms and how content differs on each
Able to articulate tailored messages through various mediums
Experience capturing live events and staging photo opportunities
Passion for social media and using it in the business environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Driven individual who is willing to learn through research and experience
Experience and examples displaying strong editorial judgment
Great team player, but also a natural self-starter.
Confident and not afraid to contribute innovative ideas.
Able to prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to build relationships and operate effectively within a team.
Knowledge of Concorde and its unique cultures is a plus.
