Supports the department in assigned projects and duties including serving as a direct liaison between patients, family members, the healthcare team, and other support services providers. Accomplishes the duties assigned by the supervisor-preceptor as evidenced through performance appraisal form.
*Performs duties as assigned by leadership that will enhance the intern's college study. *Works as a member of the departmental team to develop and implement customer support services to assist patients, families, and guests. *Provides administrative coverage. *Types documents, creates spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. *Assists with research projects, data analysis, and/or creating various reports. *Assists with TJC education preparation as required.
Requires walking, sitting, lifting and reaching overhead. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds at shoulder height. Must be able to push patients in wheelchairs or supplies on a rolling cart. Intact sense of sight and hearing is required. Responsible for working in a safe manner.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required. Currently enrolled in a college/university as an undergraduate or graduate student in Healthcare, Hospitality, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration required; concentration in Healthcare preferred. Planning, prioritizing, oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, team, and computer skills required.
