Position Summary
The local media department at ORION is responsible for all local radio, television and cable negotiations for various clients in the general market, barter, and DR space. The Assistant Negotiator, Local Media Activation works closely with the buying team in negotiating, preparing, maintaining and stewarding client’s media schedules.
Essential Functions
Develop a working knowledge of client’s media goals, guidelines and strategies.
Input, maintain and reconcile media schedules accurately, by the dept. due dates.
Enter station avails
Send orders to stations and receive/track confirmations
Request/check station contracts to ensure they have entered the schedule correctly and alert the buyer of any variances
Prepare Trade Agreement Control (TAC) Form and coordinate Trade Bank Inventory setup with buyer/finance.
Daily/weekly/monthly optimization per client guidelines.
Communicate, analyze and negotiate makegoods/changes to schedules.
Reconcile invoices after checking that the station ran the schedule as ordered and according to the buyers negotiated trade deal terms
Assist buyer in tracking delivery of the schedule. All schedules need to post to the required index.
Liaison with Traffic team to facilitate accurate creative airings.
Establish a positive and professional working relationship with all ORION staff, media vendors, partner Agencies and clients when applicable.
Other ad-hoc projects as needed.
Recommend new ways of more efficiently managing and maintaining clients’ schedules and processes.
Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Work Experience:
0 - 1 year work or internship experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Excel and Word, experience with MediaOcean is a plus
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in math and communications skills
Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and integrity
