Academic Tutor Athletic Intern

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Academic Tutor (Athletic Intern) to work in the Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) unit. This is a term-limited, 12-month minimum position eligible for a 12-month extension (2 years maximum) based on performance and evaluation. The position will report to the Associate Athletic Director of Academic Services.

 

The successful candidate will work one-on-one with a diverse population of student-athletes across several sports. Some of the duties include:  

*Serving as an academic coach/mentor to student-athletes. *Conducting PSA evaluations. *Preparing weekly academic reports for coaches. *Participating in recruiting meetings, staff meetings, team/coaches meetings. *Conducting academic meetings with students. *Preparing graduation plans. *Monitoring computer labs.

Minimum qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree and a desire to pursue a career within intercollegiate athletics.  

 

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in tutoring, N4A Individual Certification, ability to work with a diverse student-athlete population, and strong attention to the detail.

 

The position requires evening and weekend hours.
