Four New York students were awarded the coveted summer bank internship from Bank of America. The financial institution offered the future leaders the opportunity to work with the bank in an eight week paid internship at a company of their choice. The fifth annual Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative program selects 230 student leaders nationwide to participate in its summer program. The students work 35 hours or more a week and are paid $10 an hour. Priscilla Agyeman was one of the students who took part in the summer internship, and chose to work at New York’s Public Theater. This fall she will attend Boston University as a freshman. As part of the program, the students learn about working in the non-profit sector and attend an all-expense-paid leadership training summit in Washington, DC, where they gain leadership development and public policy skills.
