Public Relations Internship Jobs description

A public relations intern assists with the development and updating of media lists and other databases. A public relations intern’s job is to draft basic public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, status reports and other materials. A public relations intern carries out special and media event planning activities and arrangements as outlined by the public relations specialist or counselor. A public relations intern attends client meetings, media training sessions and presentations. A public relations intern also assists with the distribution of client information/materials or the firm’s marketing materials and conduct appropriate follow-up when necessary. A public relations intern’s responsibilities also include managing product evaluation logs, sending out product evaluation requests, and product returns. A public relations intern is involved in undertaking media monitoring, drafting press releases and following up with media contacts. A public relations intern gets experience of attending mandate-arranged events, supporting the preparation of new business proposals and researching issue and policy developments.
A public relations intern should at least be a collegiate pursuing a public relation, media, marketing, advertising or other related program. A public relations intern should be quite adept in business communication in English, and writing press releases. A public relations intern should have ability to interact professionally with clients. A working knowledge of computers, as well as word processing and database management software is a plus. A public relations intern must be capable of working in a fast-paced, multicultural office environment and be able to handle multiple assignments at once and meet deadlines.
