Are you interested in improving the quality of life for border communities? Would you like to participate in building a mega infrastructure project?

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is hiring an intern to help the Project Management Team deliver the Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project, a new state-of-the-art border crossing for the San Diego-Baja California region. The project is a joint venture between Caltrans and SANDAG, in collaboration with state and federal partners in the U.S. and Mexico, that will enhance regional mobility, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, fuel economic growth, and bolster binational trade.

Job Responsibilities

Assist Senior Project Manager with activities related to development of the Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project, including assistance with:

▪ Scheduling and communication with meeting attendees and project stakeholders.

▪ Creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, power points, graphics, and other related files.

▪ Managing electronic document distribution and tracking comments and changes to files.

▪ Note taking and follow up for project team meetings.

▪ Participating and assisting with project related events (e.g. help with coordination, set up/break down, documentation, and outreach as needed.

Qualifications

▪ College level coursework with interest in urban or regional planning, public policy, or a related field.

▪ Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, excellent oral and written communications

▪ Ability to communicate with various audiences using excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; proficiency with the Spanish language is desirable for some positions.

▪ Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously.
