Occupational Therapist Internship Jobs description
Occupational therapist internships are designed to provide students with medical care related knowledge. An occupational therapist internship may be offered to students in the area of nursing or healthcare science. Specific duties of occupational therapist internships including evaluating patients; interpreting evaluation findings to determining the nature of dysfunction; establishing treatment goals; planning treatment to achieve established goals; initiating discharge planning for occupational therapy; implementing the treatment program through direct treatment of the patient; coordinating the treatment program with other health care personnel; providing advice and education to patients; attending meetings and performing other tasks assigned by the medical officer. An occupational therapist intern typically reports to a medical officer.An occupational therapist intern should have a bachelor's degree in nursing or medical science. Excellent academic credentials are required. Strong desire to help patients is essential. Excellent patient care skills are required for similar position.
