Pharmaceutical Internship Jobs description
An intern pharmacist works under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to consult with patients and medical personnel regarding medication therapy and provides pharmaceutical care for hospitalized or ambulatory patients as assigned. An intern pharmacist dispenses compounds, procures, stores and distributes pharmacy products. An intern pharmacist provides medical personnel and patients with medication information and product identification. An intern pharmacist monitors drug therapy by utilizing patient profiles and medical record documents for appropriateness; accuracy; drug interaction; adverse drug reaction, contraindications, allergies, and sensitivities. An intern pharmacist records and oversees drug storage by monitoring inspection of medications and supplies for outdated or improperly stored medications and routinely restocking medication storage. An intern pharmacist conducts product, raw material, and water testing for pharmaceutical products.An intern pharmacist candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy and have completed at least one year in pharmacy school. A current intern pharmacist license is required. An intern pharmacist should have knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and standards regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services. An intern pharmacist must have an ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient's medical management plan. An intern pharmacist should be able to stand for long periods of time, read fine print, communicate with co-workers and patients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
